About Northbeam Construction Co
What this site is
We explain building and construction work across Manchester and the towns around it. The aim is simple: help people understand a project before they commit to it.
We're a small team who've spent years around builds in this part of the world — watching what goes smoothly and what goes wrong.
What we cover
The guides are organised by place, because place decides a lot here. A few examples:
- Period properties and extensions across Didsbury and the conservation areas of Altrincham
- Stone terraces and mill conversions in Bolton, and sloping plots in Stockport
- Waterside regeneration in Salford and former-coalfield ground in Wigan
- Pennine-edge sites in Oldham and infill plots in market-town Bury
How we write it
Plainly, and with the specifics that matter. We'd rather tell you why a stone terrace needs different thinking than fill a page with generalities.
We don't carry adverts dressed up as articles. When something is genuinely tricky — old foundations, tight access, planning conditions — we say so.
